General Information

The mission of the Arizona Partners in Preparedness Conference is to bring together the emergency management, human services, public health and disability stakeholders from throughout Arizona to discuss the latest issues in preparing and responding to the whole community during emergencies and disasters.  This conference builds upon the success of the 2011 conference that laid the foundation for collaborative relationships throughout the state.

This interactive and engaging seminar will discuss current working collaborations within the state, extrapolate lessons learned from the responses to the Colorado Wildfires and Hurricane Ike and focus on other issues related to whole community planning.  Other topics that will be discussed include planning for developmental disability communities, social media and accessible communications, tribal community relationships, limited-English proficiency populations and more. A integrated table-top exercise led by the Arizona Division of Emergency Management will be the centerpiece of the day and a half conference in an effort to identify planning shortfalls related to access and functional needs communities.

Speakers from national, state and local government agencies and organizations will focus on programs that have worked in their communities as well as continued shortfalls and challenges that they experience. This conference is a unique opportunity for stakeholders to interact with speakers and other attendees to exchange information and best practices and build sustainable relationships. .
